A Tribute to Lou Myers

FAREWELL TO OUR FRIEND On March 10, 2013 the friends and family of the veteran celebrity actor Lou Myers gathered at The Stinky Rose Restaurant in Los Angeles to commemorate his life. Onika Best was privileged to be invited to memorialize his life in word and in song, dedicating the music of “Lion Heart on Niginoth” in his honor. Lou had an extensive acting career that encompassed Broadway, film, and TV – where his most famous role was as “Mr. Gains” the restaurant owner on the hit TV show by Bill Cosby “A Different World”. He was also a writer, global entertainer, Historian and Entrepreneur.

Dawnn Lewis and AJ from the TV series appeared to emcee and help give tribute in the honoring the spirit, the life and the legacy of Lou. In addition, were given by Ken Sagoes (actor, writer) Marvin Winans, Jr. (producer), Lewis Brown, Sr. (retired attorney). Host Tonia McDonald (President of Global Business Incubation), co-host Melvin Snell (LA Humanity Group Foundation), Phil Brown (Executive Director, GBI), and sponsor Jacqueline Dear (Our Commitment.com) also spoke . Paul McDonald (GBI’s founder and Chief Research Officer) who served as Lou’s Ghost Writer says “Death to Lou is just another Adventure, Quantum Leaping to the year 2020″. Rodger E. Mosley of “Magnum P. I.” also gave his comments to Lou saying “we are happy for you, and do not be sad for me when I go I had a good life. GBI Inc. is a non- profit research development organization “thing and do tank”. Founded in 1991 on the campus of Loyola Marymount University. Presently GBI is on the Cal State campus at Long Beach. The Zero Time Business Incubator Model was Lou’s last project. Lou spoke Spanish. German, French and some African dialects and was leaning Japanese and working on his PhD. he succumbed to pneumonia after two months . He was an Air Force Veteran, and had full honors at Donel C. Kennard Memonal Veteran Cemetery West Virginia.
